Dear Burton Albion
I would like to take this opportunity to thank the entire staff at Burton Albion for making everyone associated with AFC Bournemouth so welcome last Saturday.
I know the emotions associated with winning promotion are still uppermost in your own mind, for us winning promotion at your ground was made even more memorable by the way our fans in particular, were respected and treated by your own supporters and stewards, before, during and after the game. Whilst I am certain your groundsmanmay have recurring nightmares with two thousand "Cherries" supporting treading on his prize winning turf, I believe even he joined in the post match celebrations.
Since the game, we have been inundated with telephone calls, texts and emails, from our supporters, complimenting your stewards and staff; indeed you now have two thousand exiled Cherries supporters having adopted Burton Albion as their second team.
On a personal note I would also like to thank you on behalf of the Board for your splendid hospitality during the day and for your kind words of praise during the after match celebrations.
It was a memorable day for everyone associated with AFC Bournemouth, it was made extra special by everyone at Burton Albion.
I believe a very special bond was established between our respective clubs on Saturday, and on behalf of everyone at AFC Bournemouth, we wish you all every success for the future.
