James braced for Burton return

Tony James looks set to return to Burton next week when his loan spell at Hereford expires. The centre-half rejoined his hometown club on a month-long deal after the summer arrivals of Darren Moore and Nathan Stanton and the return to fitness of Ryan Austin restricted his first-team opportunities. However, injuries to a host of defenders have since left Burton boss Paul Peschisolido short of options. Hereford are keen to keep James but Peschisolido has hinted the 31-year-old will be coming back to the Pirelli Stadium. "I have spoken to Tony and their caretaker manager and they are keen to keep him for another month," said Peschisolido. "However, we have had a few injury concerns so we will see how things are after Saturday and take it from there." On James' longer-term future at Burton, Peschisolido added: "I have said he is still part of my plans. He went to Hereford to get some games and to keep his fitness up. Hereford have told us he has been playing well but I don't need to receive reports on him because I know he is a quality player."
