Kewell on the double for Gills

Gillingham striker Danny Kewell scored either side of the break to bring nine-man Burton Albion's four-game unbeaten run to an end, as the Gills eased to a 3-1 victory.

Kedwell scored his first goal in open play since joining the Gills before Billy Kee headed home the equaliser on 40 minutes.

But two goals in the first five minutes of the second half from Frank Nouble and Kedwell put the Brewers' challenge to bed before Aaron Webster and Ryan Austin saw red for the visitors.

Andy Hessenthaler's side took the lead on 20 minutes when Kedwell headed home Danny Jackman's freekick. The visitors levelled through Kee as Justin Richards' deflected effort fell into his path to nod in.

Gillingham retook the lead on 49 minutes when Garry Richards hit the crossbar from another Jackman freekick and Nouble was on hand to bury the rebound.

Jackman was again the provider 60 seconds later when he fizzed the ball across the box for Kedwell to tap in before Webster and Austin picked up second yellow cards.
