Brewers go topAdam McGurk took Burton back to the top of the League Two table with their goal in a 1-0 defeat of promotion rivals Wycombe.The victory lifted Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink's side back above Shrewsbury, who briefly ruled the roost after winning at Mansfield in an early kick-off.For third-placed Wycombe, it was only their second away league defeat of the season and completed a dismal holiday weekend following defeat at home to Oxford.Former Wycombe frontman Stuart Beavon should have put the Brewers in front in the 17th minute but dragged a 12-yard shot well wide.Burton could have been down to 10 men eight minutes later when goalkeeper Jon McLaughlin handled outside the area only to escape with a yellow card.Burton went in front in the 56th minute with a superb left-footed finish by McGurk from the edge of the area after defence-splitting pass by Nasser El Khayati.Khayati almost doubled the lead in the 81st minute when he fired against a post, with substitute Matt Palmer scooping the rebound over the crossbar .McLaughlin produced a superb late save to deny Aaron Pierre the equaliser
