Pesch confident of Harrad stay

Albion have received offers from League Two rivals Northampton and ambitious Conference club Crawley for the 10-goal striker.

Peschisolido does not think Harrad will leave the club unless it is to play in a higher division, and the Canadian remains hopeful of getting the player to sign a new deal.

"If he does leave Burton, it will be in the interests of career progression and he sees one of these offers as a sideways move and the other as a backwards step," Peschisolido told the Burton Mail. "If he does leave he wants it to be to a club where he can further his career - and you can't criticise a player for wanting to do that. I know his agent is actively trying to fix him up in the Championship, but that's not necessarily going to happen.

"From day one, I've said I want Shaun to stay here because he's a great lad, a good player and he scores goals. You don't want to lose players of his calibre when you're trying to build for success, but at the same time I appreciate Shaun's desire to play at the highest level possible.

"At the moment, everything is at a standstill and it's still on page one as far as I'm concerned."
