The Brewers legend will be remembered by fans of the Burton Albion for his dedication to both the club and community.

His career has spanned over 16 years with the Brewers after making his debut in 1994 after progressing from the Club's youth ranks. He has played in every position for the Brewers, including goalkeeper and spearheaded the Albion's attack in the run-in at the end of last year's Blue Square Premier Championship winning campaign.

The Club skipper recently received the Burton Albion 'Clubman' award at the end of season Players Awards Dinner, acknowledging his outstanding service to his Club and community.

Darren made 9 appearances for the Brewers in central defence this season, making his Football League debut at the age of 34 against Bournemouth on September 26th 2009.

Club veteran Aaron Webster has also not been offered a contract and has been told to prove himself in pre-season, as his manager explains.

Peschisolido said, 'Aaron has done a good job for us this season but due to fitness issues we haven't seen the best of him, He needs to come back in pre season and show me that he has looked after himself. If he does that we will sit down and discuss a contract.'

Ryan Austin is also yet to sign a new deal. The defender has been offered a short term contract by the club as he looks to return to fitness and form.

Michael Simpson, Shaun Kelly, Marc Goodfellow and Romuald Boco will also be released
