Brewers waiting on trio

A handful of Burton players are slight doubts ahead of the visit of Fleetwood.

Chris Hussey and Adam Buxton are nursing knocks while Adam McGurk has been ill this week.

"We've come to the first week where we're probably a bit short of what we want," said Albion boss Gary Rowett. "Three players have left the club over recent weeks (Rory Delap, Adam Reed and Rene Howe). With a few injuries it just increases the need to bring in a few fresh faces."

Defender Shane Cansdell-Sherriff (cheekbone) and striker Michael Symes (knee) are definite absentees on Saturday.

Midfielder Jeff Hughes will miss the trip.

Hughes is set for an extended spell on the sidelines having fractured his left fibula early on in the win over Hartlepool last Saturday.

It means he will join striker Jamille Matt (ankle) as a long-term absentee while a similar injury means Cod Army boss Graham Alexander will also run the rule over forward Antoni Sarcevic in the build-up to kick-off.

Alexander will likely to have to utilise all of his squad with a further trip to another high-flier, Scunthorpe, on Monday night.
