Brewers waiting on Stanton

Boss Paul Peschisolido is banking on the big centre-half to recover from a groin injury to shore up a defence that was found badly wanting during the 2-1 defeat to Morecambe on Saturday.

Tony James is another option at the back for Peschisolido, who was critical of his side's `miserable' defending at the Globe Arena.

"I'm running out of ideas. I've contemplated everything and nothing seems to work, we just can't defend the long ball," said the Canadian.

"We've tried every player and every possible combination and it always happens the same no matter who we put in there. We work on it in training and all we can do is keep working on it, I guess."

Defenders Ryan Austin (hand) and Paul Boertien (groin) remain sidelined for Burton, who will drop into the relegation zone if they lose the first of their two games in hand on Barnet by two goals or more.
