The Brewers have flirted with the play-offs for most of their debut season in League Two and have been as high as 9th during febuary this season but a slump in home form means they are now 13th in the table, nine points off the top seven with just four games to go.
While admitting Albion would have taken a mid-table finish if offered it at the start of the season
Boertien said "the players are disappointed to have missed out on the play-offs, we will be looking to achieve that next season"
The 31 year old former Derby County man signed on a years contract last summer and is currently in talks with manager Paul Peschisolido to extend his current deal
