First contested in 1899 the bass vase trophy has a great tradition of bringing football together with raising money for local charities Burton Albion are the current trophy holders after last years victory over Gresley Rovers and welcome Derby County to the Pirelli stadium tonight hopeful of retaining the trophy for another year The Brewers Boss said last night: "On the one hand, it is just another pre-season game that we will be using to have a look at players and various bits and pieces tactically. "That is our priority, first and foremost, and I'm sure Derby will be looking at the game in a similar light. "But I am aware of the long tradition of the Bass Vase and what it means to local football supporters, so it would be great to win it. Derby manager Nigel Clough will bring a young squad for tonight's fixture but could include Scottish international Kris Commons and ex Brewers Favorite Jake Buxton. admission is £5 (£3 for concessions)
